Videum 4400 AV
The Videum 4400 AV is a true multi-channel audio and video capture card. It can be viewed as 4 standard capture cards on a single PCI card. All four channels share the same bus. A highly optimized bus controller allows to digitize up to 4 channels at up to 768x576 pixels (25 fps), transferring approx. 90 MByte/s across a single 32 bit PCI bus. The theoretical limit of this bus is 133 MByte/s.
The Videum Quattro offers all the features of the Videum 4400 AV plus S-Video input and professional level balanced audio inputs. The Videum Duo features 2 channels.
How may four channels be processed?
Four channels may be encoded in real time at full resolution, if a high performance dual Xeon system and codecs such as the popular DV codec are used. More complex codecs such as the Video 7 or 9 codecs (Windows Media Technology) may require even more CPU performance, so that only 2 or 3 channels may be encoded at full resolution in real time (4 channels at a reduced resolution).
Video switch matrix
The Videum 4400 AV features a video distribution amplifier and switching matrix. So any input may be routed to any channel.
